closeThis post was published 5 months 20 days ago. The thoughts, opinions, feelings, etc. may not be accurate anymore. I have done and said things in the past that I am not proud of, but I am slowly trying to continue to find my way. Everyone makes mistakes at some point. I am just learning as I go. Thus, no matter how embarrassing/awful, the posts are staying.

Contrary to the notes when hovering the name, it should be known that the “Ezra” I’m discussing in this post is not my brother Ezra.

If you haven’t caught up on Pretty Little Liars yet, you probably don’t want to read this post. #spoileralert

If you have, and you’re an #Ezria fan, you’re probably going to get mad.

If you fit the previous statement (you’re an #Ezria fan and have caught up on the series) and you’re either below eighteen or going to make ill assumptions about me or this post rather than be willing to carry a mature debate about the matter, GTFO. :)

The majority of YouTube users who comment on the videos consist of either crazed fans, below eighteen fans or all of the above. There’s also the use of “your” instead “you’re”, “bare” instead of “bear”, “their” and “they’re” and “there” instead of the accurate one, and so on. It’s really annoying. If I take this to Tumblr, I have below eighteen year olds coming at me with ridiculously redundant arguments on the verge of ignorance1, which is quite unfortunate considering they really believe Aria and Ezra make a healthy relationship.

Ezra’s a bad, abusive boyfriend, and the relationship continuing the way it has (or maybe even at all) sends out a bad message to a lot of the people who watch the show (i.e. the high school students, etc.). (I’m not the only one who thinks this.)

Even though Ezra [presumably] isn’t A, he still portrayed many qualities similar to that of Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga2 — they’re both liars, controlling, possible stalkers, etc.

  • Lying: Where they’re going, why they’re going there, exactly what they’re doing.
  • Controlling: I think I notice this more because I have experience with it, but both characters have controlled their love interests through lying, manipulation, and psychological abuse. …we are also still unaware of  who put all those knives in Jake’s bag. Edward was controlling by not wanting Bella to hang out with Jake3.
  • Stalking: Ezra’s stalked the girls constantly, as well as invaded their privacy. Edward also stalked Bella, but he’s just in here to further prove how entertainment these days is giving girls the impression that abusive relationships are okay.

The obvious signs of abuse portrayed throughout the series (signs courtesy of the National Domestic Violence hotline):

  • Control what you do, who you see or talk to or where you go?
  • Keeping you or discouraging you from seeing friends or family members
  • Destroying your property or threatening to hurt or kill your pets
  • Looking at you or acting in ways that scare you
  • Controlling who you see, where you go, or what you do
  • Preventing you from making your own decisions
  • Make all of the decisions

According to The Hotline, even one “yes” to any of their questions/list can be abuse.

Minus the student-teacher factor of the relationship, the Ezria ship had its ups, but there were more downs and a lot of lying.

If something doesn’t change in their relationship soon and Ezra continues to be an angry, controlling and manipulating person, I’m really going to be done with the ‘ship and possibly, the show. It’s not healthy, but it has great potential to be.

…Paige and Emily are an entirely different post, but Paige annoys me too much, and I’m so ready for her to go. >.>

#thishasbeenanotherfangirlpost

P.S. This is mostly an unorganized rant. I developed a headache midway and called it “finished” (not quits).
I didn’t know what to title this, so meh. :|

  1. “Ignorance” means “without knowledge”, and I do use the word accordingly.
  2. …if you’re a fan of him as well, you should probably move on.
  3. Ohey! The middle men even come with the same names!
